1. A device for assisting a caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient, the device comprisinga user interface configured to deliver prompts to a caregiver to assist the caregiver in delivering therapy to a patient, wherein the therapy is delivered in a series of steps;
- at least one sensor configured to detect the caregiver'"'"'s progress through the series of steps in delivering the therapy;
a memory in which a plurality of different prompts are stored;
a processor configured to determine which of the plurality of different prompts should be selected for delivery based on detection by the sensor of a plurality of different steps to which the caregiver has progressed in delivery of the therapy, wherein progress through at least two different steps is detected and at least two different prompts are delivered, with the selection of prompt delivered based on which of the plurality of steps the caregiver has progressed to,wherein the at least one sensor comprises a photoelectric sensor on the electrode for assisting in detection of whether the electrode has been applied to clothing.
