1. A baroreflex stimulator for delivering baroreflex therapy that follows an intrinsic circadian rhythm, including:

  • a sensor adapted to sense blood pressure;

    a pulse generator operationally connected to the sensor and adapted to deliver a baroreflex stimulation therapy using a baroreflex stimulation signal to provide a target blood pressure;

    a circadian rhythm template storage with a circadian rhythm template stored therein, wherein the template reflects the intrinsic cardiac rhythm by reflecting natural fluctuations in a parameter related to hypertension during a day, anda modulator operationally connected to the pulse generator and to the circadian rhythm template storage, the modulator configured to change the target blood pressure to mimic natural blood pressure fluctuations during the day using the circadian rhythm template,wherein the modulator is configured to follow the circadian rhythm template to adjust the target blood pressure to mimic natural blood pressure fluctuations during the day, and the pulse generator uses the sensed blood pressure as feedback for adjusting the baroreflex therapy to provide the target blood pressure, as adjusted by the modulator, to mimic natural blood pressure fluctuations during the day.
