1. A system for producing a surface above which an object will hover, comprising:
- a first magnetic field emission structure associated with said surface, said first field emission structure having a first plurality of magnetic field emission sources having positions and polarities in accordance with a first code combination including a first partial code modulo of a first code and a successive second partial code modulo of said first code, said first code combination corresponding to two code modulos of said first code repeating in a first direction, said first code being complementary to a second code corresponding to a second magnetic field emission structure associated with said object, said second field emission structure having a second plurality of magnetic field emission sources having positions and polarities in accordance with a code modulo of said second code; and
a hover channel corresponding to the outer boundary of said first magnetic field emission structure, said second field emission structure being able to move within said hover channel across all of said first magnetic field emission structure whereby said first magnetic field emission structure and said second field emission structure produce a repel force causing said object to hover above said surface.

Abstract
An improved field emission system and method is provided that involves field emission structures having electric or magnetic field sources. The magnitudes, polarities, and positions of the magnetic or electric field sources are configured to have desirable correlation properties, which may be in accordance with a code. The correlation properties correspond to a desired spatial force function where spatial forces between field emission structures correspond to relative alignment, separation distance, and the spatial force function.
