1. A pressure measurement system, comprising:

  • a pressure sensor wire comprising an insertable portion configured to be inserted in a blood vessel of a patient'"'"'s body and a pressure sensor disposed within the insertable portion at a distal end of the pressure sensor wire, wherein the pressure sensor is configured to measure pressure inside the patient; and

    a transceiver unit, comprising;

    a housing adapted to be connected to a proximal end of the pressure sensor wire;

    a communication module within the housing adapted to wirelessly communicate by a communication signal with a communication unit, wherein the communication unit is arranged in connection with an external device in order to transfer pressure information to the external device; and

    a sensor signal adapting circuitry within the housing adapted to filter, process, and format a signal received from the pressure sensor wire,wherein the communication signal, including pressure sensor values, is generated by the transceiver unit and transferred as a data stream,wherein the housing is configured to remain external to the patient'"'"'s body, andwherein the sensor signal adapting circuitry within the housing comprises a calibrating section containing calibration data for the pressure sensor wire.
