1. A device for protecting an inflatable element, the device comprising:

  • a. a first strip, the first strip comprising at least one opening, the one opening being surrounded by a plurality of holes; and

    b. a second strip, the second strip comprising at least one opening, the one opening being surrounded by a plurality of holes, the second strip being placed at a predetermined angle to and above the first strip; and

    c. the first strip is folded into an inner loop and the inner loop is held together by one or more breakable attachments means, the second strip is folded into an outer loop and the outer loop is held together by one or more breakable attachment means, so that the breakable attachment means break and the inner loop and the outer loop unfold upon activation of the inflator.
