1. A golf club head having a hollow structure comprising:

  • a head main body provided with a top opening in a crown portion anda crown plate fitted in the top opening so as to close the top opening, whereinthe head main body is provided with a crown plate support, the crown plate support extending along an edge of the top opening and protruding into the top opening with a variable width from the edge of the top opening so as to support a peripheral part of an inner surface of the crown plate, whereinan average Wa of a width of the crown plate support existing in a foreside one-quarter zone of the top opening, an average Wc of a width of the crown plate support existing in a backside one-quarter zone of the top opening, and an average Wb of a width of the crown plate support existing in a mid two-quarter zone of the top opening satisfy the following conditional expressions (1) and (2);
