1. An apparatus for use with an endoscope, comprising:

  • a housing having a distal end, a proximal end, and a cylindrical outer surface extending between the distal and proximal ends, the housing being removably attachable to a distal terminating end of an endoscope having viewing optics located at the distal end, wherein the distal end of the housing extends distally from the viewing optics of the endoscope, the housing comprising an opening at the proximal end, wherein the cross-sectional area of the opening is at least as large as a cross-sectional area of the distal terminating end of the endoscope;

    a plurality of first electrodes and at least one second electrode located on the outer cylindrical surface of the housing extending between the distal and proximal ends, wherein each of the first electrodes is connected to a first electrical conduit and the at least one second electrode is connected to a second electrical conduit; and

    wherein the electrodes are positioned around the circumference of the housing and are capable of delivering energy to a tissue region inside a body to ablate the tissue region; and

    a plurality of apertures distributed around and along the cylindrical outer surface of the housing.
