1. A nozzle assembly for an inkjet printhead, said nozzle assembly being disposed on a passivated silicon substrate and comprising:

  • an inkjet nozzle chamber for containing ink, said nozzle chamber comprising an actuator for ejecting an ink droplet from a nozzle opening in said chamber when a resistive element of said actuator is heated by an electrical current;

    a drive transistor for providing an energy pulse to said resistive element of said actuator; and

    control logic for controlling said drive transistor,wherein part of said actuator is spaced apart from said passivated substrate, such that opposite surfaces of said actuator are in contact with said ink.
