1. A method of delivering a dosage of liquid with a piston actuated pump, the piston having a stroke length, the method comprising:

  • measuring a flow rate of the pump;

    determining a flow characteristic of the liquid substantially simultaneously with measuring the flow rate of the pump, wherein the flow characteristic of the liquid corresponds to a rate of an electrochemical reaction of a component of the liquid;

    determining a desired dosage;

    determining a number of strokes corresponding to the desired dosage, wherein the determined number of strokes is based, at least in part, on the measured flow rate and the determined flow characteristic of the liquid; and

    delivering the desired dosage by moving the piston the corresponding number of strokes.
