1. A measuring device, comprising:

  • a first electrode for insertion into a material to be measured;

    a sheath which at least partially surrounds the first electrode, anda holding fixture in which an axial end of said first electrode is disposed, wherein the holding fixture includes a recess which accommodates the axial end of the first electrode and includes an articulated support, coupled to the recess, which pivotably mounts the first electrode, wherein the articulated support of the holding fixture enables pivoting motion of the first electrode about an imaginary hinge point, the pivoting motion of the first electrode being independent of a flexing of the first electrode, the first electrode pivoting about the imaginary hinge point in response to the material to be measured applying a transverse load to the first electrode, and wherein said sheath has an increased diameter in a region of said articulated support.
