1. An access control system, comprising:
- an enclosure; and
an access control unit disposed to fill an opening in a perimeter of the enclosure, the access control unit including;
an ISO shipping container;
at least one passing room disposed in the standard shipping container, the at least one passing room having at least a first passing room opening, and at least a second passing room opening, and a walkway in-between;
at least one barrier device located in the walkway defining a first space between the first passing room opening and the at least one barrier device, and a second space between the at least one barrier device and the second passing room opening, the at least one barrier device including a turnstile, a sliding door, a revolving door or moving bars, or a combination thereof, that selectively blocks passage through the at least one barrier device and permit passage through the at least one barrier device; and
an electronic controller coupled to the at least one barrier device and configured and arranged to selectively cause the at least one barrier device to block passage or permit passage through the at least one barrier device,wherein the enclosure and the access control unit define a first area outside the enclosure and a second area within the enclosure so that ingress to the second area is controlled by the access control unit and the at least one barrier device is controllable by the electronic controller to permit or block passage through the passing room into the second area.
