A method of treating cardiac arrhythmias resulting from errant electrical signals conducted through the cardiac tissue from a source location in the heart, the method comprising reducing the magnitude of the errant signals by shunting electrical signals from the source location to at least one location that reduces the errant electrical signals and establishes a normal heartbeat with an electrically conductive element having a sufficiently low impedance introduced into the body.
