1. A method for proactively preventing wireless transmissions in a zone over a pre-defined area, the method comprising the steps of:

  • a) performing radio frequency (RF) simulation of the pre-defined area, wherein the RF simulation is configured to provide placement location of sensors to provide a coverage area in the pre-defined area and to minimize signal bleed into areas neighboring the pre-defined area;

    b) placing sensors in the pre-defined area responsive to the RF simulation; and

    c) providing wireless data transmissions from the sensors to prevent wireless transmissions in the zone throughout the coverage area;

    wherein the providing transmissions step comprises the steps of;

    a) transmitting clear-to-send (CTS) frames with a long duration field to reserve a wireless channel thereby preventing other devices from communicating on the wireless channel; and

    b) repeating step a).
