- determine a clock indicator from alignment data sensed by a sensor used to interact with coded data in a sensing region;
update, from the determined clock indicator, a phase-locked loop (PLL);
determine, from the updated PLL, a relative position between the sensing region and a data portion of the coded data sensed by the sensor; and
decode, from the determined relative position, the sensed data portion.
