1. A medical lead configured to be implanted into a patient'"'"'s body, the lead comprising:

  • an elongated lead body having a proximal end and a distal end;

    a conductive filer that is coupled to an electrical contact at the proximal end and that passes through an interior of the lead body to the distal end; and

    an electrode coupled to said lead body at the distal end, said electrode comprising;

    a first section comprising a ring that is configured to contact the patient'"'"'s body and that is coupled to the conductive filer; and

    a second section comprising a ring positioned outside of the ring of the first section and an extension from the ring of the second section that is capacitively coupled to said first section by at least a portion of the extension being positioned within the ring of the first section, the second section being configured to be electrically coupled to the patient'"'"'s body.
