Abstract

Novel exendin agonist compounds are provided. These compounds are useful in treating Type I and II diabetes and conditions which would be benefited by lower plasma glucose and delaying and/or slowing gastric emptying.

1. A peptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:

3. A composition comprising the peptide of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

5. The peptide of claim 4 in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt.

6. A composition comprising the peptide of claim 4 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
