1. A field emission system, comprising:

  • a first field emission structure, said first field emission structure comprising a first array of field emission sources having positions and polarities in accordance with a spatial force function, said first array of field emission sources being configured such that only one of said field emission sources is positioned in any one row of said first array of field emission sources and only one of said field emission sources is positioned in any one column of said first array of field emission sources; and

a second field emission structure, said second field emission structure comprising a second array of field emission sources having positions and polarities in accordance with said spatial force function, said second array of field emission sources being configured such that only one of said field emission sources is positioned in any one row of said second array of field emission sources and only one of said field emission sources is positioned in any one column of said second array of field emission sources, said spatial force function corresponding to a code modulo defined by a code, said code modulo having a peak spatial force and a plurality of off peak spatial forces, said plurality of off peak spatial forces having a largest off peak spatial force, said largest off peak spatial force being less than half of the peak spatial force.
