1. A method of processing a network communication in order to avoid or minimize the cost of inter-domain stateful connections between application servers (ASs) and serving call state control function (S-CSCF) nodes in a network with multiple domains, said method comprising:
- receiving a network communication by an S-CSCF node having a co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server, andprocessing the network communication on a processor contained within the co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server to avoid or minimize the cost of stateful inter-domain connections between the application server and the S-CSCF by providing intra-domain connections between the AS and the S-CSCF,wherein the network includes a network operator administration domain and an mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service domain, and wherein the S-CSCF logic and AS are maintained in the same domain, thereby avoiding or minimizing the cost of stateful inter-domain connections between the ASs and the S-CSCF by providing intra-domain connections between the AS and the S-CSCF.

Abstract
Methods of avoiding or minimizing cost of stateful connections between application servers (ASs) and S-CSCF nodes in an IMS network with multiple domains. S-CSCF service logic is provided and connected to a co-located AS. The IMS includes a network operator administration domain and an MVNO service domain, and the S-CSCF logic and AS are maintained in the same domain, e.g., the MVNO or network operator domain.

3. A method of avoiding or minimizing cost of stateful inter-domain connections between application servers (ASs) and serving call state control function (S-CSCF) nodes in a network with multiple domains, said method comprising:
-
receiving a network communication by an S-CSCF node having a co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server; and processing the network communication on a processor contained within the co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server to avoid or minimize the cost of stateful inter-domain connections between the application server and the S-CSCF by providing intra-domain connections between the AS and the S-CSCF, wherein the S-CSCF is provisioned to instantiate multiple call models, each said call model having filter codes to associate service codes with application servers (ASs), said ASs being responsive to service point triggers (SPTs) and each AS having service logic to provide a service for a corresponding service code, wherein at least two call models have different ASs with different service logic associated with a specified service code, such that the two call models will provide distinct service experience for said specified service code, and wherein the call models are instantiated with the facilitation of a call model database that is maintained by a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) or Virtual Service Organization (VSO) and wherein at least one AS is maintained by the same MVNO or VSO.

4. A method of avoiding or minimizing cost of stateful inter-domain connections between application servers (ASs) and serving call state control function (S-CSCF) nodes in a network with multiple domains, said method comprising:
-
receiving a network communication by an S-CSCF node having a co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server; and processing the network communication on a processor contained within the co-located S-CSCF service logic and application server to avoid or minimize the cost of stateful inter-domain connections between the application server and the S-CSCF by providing intra-domain connections between the AS and the S-CSCF, wherein the S-CSCF is provisioned to instantiate dynamic call models, each said call model having filter codes to associate service codes with application servers (ASs), wherein said call model adapts to a dynamic context of a user, and wherein the call models are instantiated with the facilitation of a call model database that is maintained by a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) or Virtual Service Organization (VSO) and wherein at least one AS is maintained by the same MVNO or VSO.

5. A system for avoiding or minimizing cost of stateful inter-domain connections between application servers (ASs) and serving call state control function (S-CSCF) nodes in a network with multiple domains, the system comprising:
-
a network, wherein the network includes a network operator administration domain and a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service domain; an S-CSCF serving node located in the network; an AS; and S-CSCF logic, wherein the AS and the S-CSCF logic are co-located in the S-CSCF serving node and are maintained in the same domain, thereby avoiding or minimizing the cost of inter-domain stateful connections between the AS and the S-CSCF by providing intra-domain connections between the AS and the S-CSCF.
