1. A system for geographically selective vehicle to vehicle communication, comprising:

  • a positioning system circuit in a second vehicle for determining a geographical location of the second vehicle;

    a receiving unit in the second vehicle, the receiving unit being for receiving data from a transmitting unit of a first vehicle, the data including geographical location information of the first vehicle; and

    a computing circuit in the second vehicle for determining whether the second vehicle is in a target footprint of the first vehicle based at least in part on the geographic locations of the first and second vehicles;

    wherein the computing circuit sends information to an output device in the second vehicle if the second vehicle is in the target footprint of the first vehicle, the output device being for outputting information,wherein the computing circuit determines whether the second vehicle is in the target footprint of the first vehicle based in part on at least one of a heading and speed of the first vehicle,wherein a shape of a peripheral boundary of the target footprint is modified if a turn of the first vehicle is anticipated or performed,wherein the target footprint is smaller than a broadcasting range of the transmitting unit.
