1. A method of implanting a stent in an eye, comprising:

  • advancing a piercing member along an axis to create an opening at trabecular meshwork of the eye;

    delivering the stent by moving the stent along a side of the piercing member and through the opening such that a distal section of the stent resides in Schlemm'"'"'s canal, with a surface of the distal section abutting a surface of Schlemm'"'"'s canal and extending generally perpendicular to said axis laterally within Schlemm'"'"'s canal to stabilize the implanted stent.
