1. A sensor, comprising:

  • a sensor body comprising a first portion and a second portion, wherein at least one of the first portion and the second portion comprises an alignment feature;

    at least one sensing element disposed on the sensor body; and

    a sliding clip adapted to slide along the sensor body to bias the first portion towards the second portion, wherein the sliding clip is adapted to apply a pressure to a patient'"'"'s tissue sufficient to overcome the patient'"'"'s venous blood pressure but not sufficient to overcome the patient'"'"'s arterial blood pressure, and wherein the sliding clip is generally U-shaped and configured to be disposed along the alignment feature.
