1. A medical lead delivery device comprising:

  • an elongated body extending from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein the elongated body comprises a conductive material, and further wherein the elongated body further comprises a tapered section at the distal end of the elongated body;

    a controller disposed on the elongated body;

    a first coil extending from a proximal end to a distal end and surrounding at least a portion of the tapered section of the elongated body, wherein the distal end of the first coil is located closer to the distal end of the elongated body than the proximal end of the first coil, wherein the first coil comprises conductive material, and further wherein the proximal end of the first coil is electrically coupled to the tapered section of the elongated body;

    a second coil extending from a proximal end to a distal end and surrounding at least a portion of the tapered section of the elongated body, wherein the second coil comprises conductive material, wherein the proximal end of the second coil is electrically coupled to the distal end of the first coil, wherein the distal end of the second coil is located closer to the distal end of the elongated body than the proximal end of the second coil, and further wherein at least a portion of the second coil is uninsulated so as to be operable for use in measuring electrical values of body tissue; and

    insulative material surrounding at least the first coil such that the first coil is disposed between the insulative material and the elongated body and wherein the diameter of the first coil is less than the diameter of the second coil.
