First Claim
1. A method comprising the steps of:
- (a) operating a card reader device of an automated banking machine associated with a first banking institution to read card data associated with a second banking institution with which a customer operating the machine has a financial account,wherein the machine includes a display device operative to output different customer interfaces including at least a first banking institution customer interface and a second banking institution customer interface,wherein the first banking institution customer interface and the second banking institution customer interface each include user-selectable transaction options,wherein the machine includes at least one computer in operative connection with the card reader device and the display device, wherein the at least one computer is operative to both cause the card data to be compared with card information stored in at least one data store in authorizing the customer to carry out a transaction and cause a funds transfer involving the financial account;
(b) operating the machine to receive at least one document that is associated in the at least one data store with the card data read in step (a), wherein the at least one document corresponds to the second banking institution customer interface; and
(c) responsive at least in part to the at least one document received in step (b), operating the machine to provide the second banking institution customer interface through the display device.

Abstract
An automated banking machine operates responsive to data read from data bearing records, such as user cards, to cause machine user authorization and financial transfers. Account data read from a user card is associated in a data store with a server address, where a document is located. The document includes machine instructions for displaying a customer interface uniquely associated with the particular banking institution where the user holds the account. The customer interface includes user-selectable transaction options. The arrangement enables the customer interface of the user'"'"'s home bank, with which the user is familiar, to also be automatically displayed to the user when the user operates automated banking machines of other banks.

6. A method comprising:
-
(a) obtaining account identifying data from a user through operation of at least one reader device of an automated banking machine associated with a first business entity, wherein the machine includes at least one computer and a display device, wherein the display device is operative to display a first user interface that has been established as a primary user interface for banking machines associated with the first business entity, wherein the first user interface includes user-selectable transaction options, wherein the display device is operative to display a second user interface that has been established as a primary user interface for banking machines associated with a second business entity, wherein the second user interface includes user-selectable transaction options, wherein the second user interface visually differs from the first user interface, wherein the display device is operative to display a third user interface that has been established as a primary user interface for banking machines associated with a third business entity, wherein the third user interface includes user-selectable transaction options, wherein the third user interface visually differs from both the first user interface and the second user interface; and (b) either; (bi) displaying the primary user interface for the machine through the display device, responsive at least in part to the account identifying data obtained in step (a) corresponding to an account associated with the first business entity, or (bii) displaying a secondary user interface for the machine through the display device, responsive at least in part to the account identifying data obtained in step (a) corresponding to an account associated with either the second business entity or the third business entity, wherein responsive at least in part to the account being associated with the second business entity, the secondary user interface displayed comprises the second user interface, wherein responsive at least in part to the account being associated with the third business entity, the secondary user interface displayed comprises the third user interface. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13)
