1. A patient monitoring method comprising:
- inputting sensor signals from at least two physiological sensors of a physiological monitor, the physiological sensors attached to tissue sites comprising two or more of at least a portion the left arm, right arm, left leg, right leg, head, and neck of a patient;
generating data channels corresponding to each of the tissue sites based on the sensor signals;
calculating signal quality for each of the data channels using one or more processors of the physiological monitor; and
outputting a first oxygen status parameter or plethysmograph derived from at least one of the data channels based upon a comparison of the calculated signal qualities.

Abstract
A patient monitor has multiple sensors adapted to attach to tissue sites of a living subject. The sensors generate sensor signals that are responsive to at least two wavelengths of optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood within the tissue sites. Multiple data channels and associated quality parameters are derived from the sensor signals. A processor is configured to operate on the channels according to the quality parameters so as to provide a robust oxygen status measurement.

11. A patient monitoring method, comprising:
-
inputting sensor signals from at least two physiological sensors of a physiological monitor, the physiological sensors attached to tissue sites of a plurality of appendages of a patient; generating data channels corresponding to each of the tissue sites based on the sensor signals; calculating signal quality for each of the data channels using one or more processors of the physiological monitor; outputting a first oxygen status parameter or plethysmograph derived from at least one of the data channels based upon a comparison of the calculated signal qualities; ignoring a noisy one of the data channels based upon the calculated signal qualities; and deriving the oxygen status parameter from one or more of the remaining data channels during a particular time period.
