1. A device comprising:

  • a substrate;

    a first and a second optical waveguide provided on the substrate;

    a compound optical resonator provided on the substrate, the compound resonator optically coupled to the first and second waveguides, the compound optical resonator including a first optical resonator and a second optical resonator coupled to the first optical resonator;

    a first heater configured to adjust a temperature of the first optical resonator;

    a second heater configured to adjust a temperature of the second optical resonator; and

    a control system configured to sense a temperature of the compound resonator and control a first power dissipated by the first heater in response to the sensed temperature of the compound resonator, and control a second power dissipated by the second heater based on the first power.
