System and method for detection enhancement programming
First Claim
1. A programmer for use by a user to program an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, the programmer comprising:
- a programming screen;
a selection module adapted to receive from the user a first selection of one or more detection enhancements from a plurality of detection enhancements being rules for determining whether to deliver a shock therapy from the implantable cardioverter defibrillator in response to a detection of tachyarrhythmia;
a zone rate bar displayed on the programming screen, the zone rate bar presenting a plurality of tachyarrhythmia zones each associated with one or more detection enhancements of the plurality of detection enhancements;
detection buttons displayed on the programming screen, the detection buttons each associated with an arrhythmia zone of the plurality of tachyarrhythmia zones and adapted to allow display of a detection parameter summary for that tachyarrhythmia zone and access to the detection parameters associated with that tachyarrhythmia zone;
a rate smoothing button on the programming screen, the rate smoothing button adapted to receive from the user a second selection between enabling and disabling a rate smoothing feature of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator; and
a communication module adapted to program the implantable cardioverter defibrillator according to the first selection and the second selection.

Abstract
A system and method of enabling detection enhancements selected from a plurality of detection enhancements. In a system having a plurality of clinical rhythms, including a first clinical rhythm, where each of the detection enhancements is associated with the clinical rhythms, the first clinical rhythm is selected. The first clinical rhythm is associated with first and second detection enhancements. When the first clinical rhythm is selected, parameters of the first and second detection enhancements are set automatically. A determination is made as to whether changes are to be made to the parameters. If so, one or more of the parameters are modified under user control.
