1. An optical imaging device that comprises:

  • an elongate housing;

    an infrared sensor arrangement arranged in the housing and configured to sense information printed on a page with infrared ink;

    a radio frequency transceiver arranged in the housing and operatively connected to the sensor arrangement for communicating said information wirelessly;

    a pair of orthogonal accelerometers mounted in the housing in a plane normal to an elongate axis of said housing, the accelerometers being configured to sense direction and speed of motion of the housing without reference to a location on the page; and

    a controller circuit for controlling operation of the sensor arrangement, the transceiver, and the accelerometers.
