First Claim
1. An apparatus comprising:
- an elongate body extending from a proximal end to a distal end;
a conductor disposed within the elongate body;
an electrode coupled to the elongate body, wherein the electrode is in electrical communication with the conductor;
a push tube extending within at least a portion of the elongate body;
an active fixation device extending within and detachably coupled to the push tube, the push tube slidably coupled with the elongate body; and
a fastener disposed substantially adjacent to the distal end of the elongate body, wherein the fastener is adapted to be coupled to a distal end of the active fixation device to immobilize the active fixation device with respect to the elongate body.

Abstract
A lead assembly includes an elongate body having a conductor electrically coupled with an electrode coupled to the elongate body. The lead assembly includes a push tube extending along at least a portion of the elongate body. A distal tip is coupled to the elongate body substantially adjacent to the distal end of the elongate body. The distal tip is sized and shaped to couple with a push tube distal end. In one option, the distal tip includes a seat to receive the push tube distal end. In another option, the seat is a side rail seat and a guide wire extends along the elongate body and is slidably coupled with the side rail seat. The lead assembly includes, optionally, an active fixation device slidably coupled with a portion of the elongate body, and the active fixation device is sized and shaped to couple with the push tube.

9. An elongate body fixation assembly comprising:
-
an elongate body, the elongate body including an active fixation device lumen extending along at least a portion of an elongate body interior; a conductor extending through the elongate body from an elongate body proximal end toward an elongate body distal end; an electrode coupled with the elongate body along an elongate body outer surface, the electrode coupled with the conductor; an active fixation device within the active fixation device lumen, the active fixation device longitudinally movable relative to the elongate body; a push tube moveably coupled with the elongate body within the active fixation device lumen, the push tube is slidably engaged with the elongate body interior, the push tube is engaged with the active fixation device; and wherein movement of the push tube toward the elongate body distal end correspondingly moves the active fixation device into a first orientation within the elongate body distal end, and movement of the push tube away from the elongate body distal end slides the push tube off of the active fixation device, and an active fixation device longitudinal axis assumes a second non-linear orientation and the active fixation device engages with the elongate body interior pushing the elongate body into a corresponding non-linear elongate body orientation. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
