Quality of service in IT infrastructures
First Claim
1. A method of determining quality of service (QoS) in an IT infrastructure on the basis of QoS-related data received from data sources for these QoS-related data, wherein the data from the data sources regularly arrive in real-time, but data from one or more of the data sources may occasionally be delayed, the method comprising:
- a QoS management computer system calculating, on the basis of the regular data, a real-time indication of the quality of service in a first process for a calculation cycle, said indication not being based on delayed data;
the QoS management computer system calculating, after the receipt of delayed data, on the basis of regular information, which comprises at least one of regular data and information derived from it, and the delayed data, a delayed, but more accurate indication of the quality of service in a second concurrent process for the same calculation cycle.

Abstract
A method of determining quality of service (QoS) in an IT infrastructure on the basis of QoS-related data received from data sources for these QoS-related data, wherein the data from the data sources regularly arrive in real-time, but data from one or more of the data sources may occasionally be delayed. On the basis of the regular data, a real-time indication of the quality of service is calculated in a first process. This indication is possibly inaccurate since delayed data is not included. After the receipt of delayed data, a delayed, but more accurate indication of the quality of service is calculated in a second concurrent process on the basis of regular information, which comprises at least one of regular data and information derived from it, and the delayed data.

17. A computer system for determining quality of service (QoS) in an IT infrastructure on the basis of QoS related data received from data sources for these QoS related data, wherein the data from the data sources regularly arrive in real-time, but data from one or more of the data sources may occasionally be delayed, the computer system being programmed to:
-
calculate, on the basis of the regular data, a real-time indication of the quality of service in a first process for a calculation cycle, said indication not being based on delayed data; calculate, after the receipt of delayed data, on the basis of regular information, which comprises at least one of regular data and information derived from it, and the delayed data, a delayed, but more accurate indication of the quality of service in a second concurrent process for the same calculation process.

18. A computer program product which is in the form of a machine-readable medium with program code stored on it,
wherein the program code is arranged to carry out a method, when executed on a computer system, of determining quality of service (QoS) in an IT infrastructure on the basis of QoS related data received from data sources for these QoS related data, wherein the data from the data sources regularly arrive in real-time, but data from one or more of the data sources may occasionally be delayed, said method comprising: -
calculating, on the basis of the regular data, a real-time indication of the quality of service in a first process for a calculation cycle, said indication not being based on delayed data; calculating, after the receipt of delayed data, on the basis of regular information, which comprises at least one of regular data and information derived from it, and the delayed data, a delayed, but more accurate indication of the quality of service in a second concurrent process for the same calculation cycle.
