1. A method of acquiring and displaying chromatographic separation data, comprising:
- acquiring data comprising a first series of measurements indicating presence of constituents and a marker in a first sample, the first sample constituents and the marker detected at a single point along the length of a channel as they move through the channel past that point;
acquiring data comprising a second series of measurements indicating presence of constituents and the marker in a second sample, the second sample constituents and the marker detected at the single point along the length of the channel as they move through the channel past that point;
displaying using a computer system the first series of measurements as a first lane comprising a first series of bands;
identifying one or more peaks in the first series of measurements that correspond to the marker;
identifying one or more peaks in the second series of measurements that correspond to the marker;
scaling the second series of measurements such that one or more bands that correspond to the marker in the first sample and one or more bands that correspond to the marker in the second sample are aligned when each series of measurements is displayed as a lane comprising a series of bands; and
displaying using the computer system the scaled second series of measurements as a second lane comprising a second series of bands, wherein the lane for the first series of measurements and the lane for the scaled second series of measurements are displayed as a parallel set of lanes.

Abstract
Techniques for displaying chromatographic data using a graphical user interface are provided. Chromatographic separation data that represent a series of measurements for multiple samples at a detection location over time can be displayed on a display device as a series of bands, the bands being arranged to resemble output from an electrophoresis gel. Additionally, the chromatographic separation data may be displayed in the form of measured intensity at the detection location versus time.
