1. A method for selecting an antenna configuration corresponding to a next transmission of packet data, the method comprising:

  • executing instructions stored in memory, wherein execution of the instructions by a processortracks a packet inter-arrival time for at least one flow of data, the at least one flow of data being temporally periodic, compiles a schedule of expected arrival times for the at least one flow of temporally periodic data, the schedule based on at least a prediction of subsequent arrival time of the tracked flow of data, andselects an antenna configuration corresponding to the at least one flow of data prior to the expected arrival time of the at least one flow of temporally periodic data, the antenna configuration corresponding to a known antenna configuration associated with optimizing receipt of packet data from a particular station address of the packet.
