1. An infusion device comprising:
- a body having a body passageway and a bottom;
an adhesive laminate member attached to the bottom;
a cannula having a portion extending from the body, and a cannula passageway defined by a cannula passageway wall that has (a) an inwardly-tapered portion positioned above the adhesive laminate member, and (b) a cannula passageway wall portion that surrounds infusion device material that directly borders open space within the body passageway, the cannula passageway having a cannula passageway end positioned outside the body, the cannula passageway end having a perimeter; and
a septum separate from but coupled to the body and positioned within the body passageway, the septum having a septum top surface, a septum bottom surface, and a bottommost portion, the septum top surface having a septum top surface portion accessible to an injection needle, the septum top surface portion being bounded by a septum top surface portion perimeter that is greater than the perimeter of the cannula passageway end;
the septum being configured such that space above the bottommost portion and below the septum top surface that is occupied by an insertion needle during infusion device insertion is re-occupied by septum material after the insertion needle is removed.

Abstract
The disclosures made herein relate to an infusion device specifically adapted for syringe injections. In one embodiment of the disclosures made herein, an infusion device comprises a body including an accessible surface having a single inlet port therein, an engagement surface having a single outlet port therein, a medication delivery channel extending between the single inlet port and the single outlet port, and an identification feature on the accessible surface of the body adjacent to the single inlet port. The single inlet port of the medication delivery channel is tapered thereby forming a funnel-shaped entry into the medication delivery channel. A cannula is coupled to the body at the single outlet port and is adapted for receiving medication from the single outlet port and transmitting the medication therethrough.
