1. A sepsis monitor comprising:

  • a plurality of sensors adapted to be attached to a living being so as to generate a corresponding plurality of sensor signals, at least one of said sensors comprising an optical sensor outputting a first signal of said at least one of said plurality of sensor signals, said first signal indicative of a blood parameter including at least one of oxygen saturation, methemoglobin, or carboxyhemoglobin;

    a monitor in communication with the sensors so as to derive a plurality of physiological parameters responsive to the sensor signals, said parameters including at least one of methemoglobin or carboxyhemoglobin responsive to said first signal, and to apply a plurality of predetermined limits to the physiological parameters associated with sepsis; and

    at least one indicator responsive to the monitor'"'"'s application of the predetermined limits to signal the onset of a sepsis condition in the living being.
