1. A liquid crystal display panel comprising:
- a first pixel electrode;
a second pixel electrode adjacent to the first pixel electrode,a gate line longitudinally extended in a first direction, and being disposed between the first and second pixel electrodes;
a third pixel electrode adjacent to the first pixel electrode,a data line longitudinally extended in a second direction which is orthogonal to the first direction, and being disposed between the first and third pixel electrodes;
a first light-leakage preventing layer overlapping with the gate line, and including a first width extending from the first pixel electrode to a center line defined between the first and second pixel electrodes, and a second width extending from an edge of the second pixel electrode to the center line defined between the first and second pixel electrodes, the first width being different from the second width; and
a second light-leakage preventing layer overlapping with the data line, and including a third width extending from an edge of the first pixel electrode to a center line defined between the first and third pixel electrodes, and fourth width extending from the third pixel electrode to the center line defined between the first and third pixel electrodes, the third width being different from the fourth width,wherein the first light-leakage preventing layer overlaps with only one of first edge portions of the first pixel and only one of edge portions of the second pixel, the first edge portions of the first pixel and the edge portions of the second pixel being substantially parallel with the gate line, andwherein the second light-leakage preventing layer overlaps with only one of second edge portions of the first pixel and only one of edge portions of the third pixel, the second edge portions of the first pixel and the edge portions of the third pixel being substantially parallel with the date line.

Abstract
In an LCD apparatus, a non-effective display region disposed between pixel electrodes and a light leakage region disposed on the pixel electrodes are covered by means of a light-leakage preventing layer and by overlapping color filters of a color filter substrate, thereby preventing the light from being leaked through the non-effective display region and the light leakage region. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent brightness of the light from being decreased and images displayed through the LCD apparatus from being deteriorated in quality.

a first pixel electrode; a second pixel electrode adjacent to the first pixel electrode, a gate line longitudinally extended in a first direction, and being disposed between the first and second pixel electrodes; a third pixel electrode adjacent to the first pixel electrode, a data line being longitudinally extended in a second direction which is orthogonal to the first direction, and disposed between the first and third pixel electrodes; and a light blocking region including; a first light-leakage preventing layer overlapping with the gate line, and including a first width extending from the first pixel electrode to a center line defined between the first and second pixel electrodes, and a second width extending from an edge of the second pixel electrode to the center line defined between the first and second pixel electrodes, the first width being different from the second width; and an overlapping area excluding the first light-leakage preventing layer in which at least two of red, green and blue color filters overlap with each other, overlap with the data line, and include a third width extending from an edge of the first pixel electrode to a center line defined between the first and third pixel electrodes, and a fourth width extending from the third pixel electrode to the center line defined between the first and third pixel electrodes, the third width being different from the fourth width. - View Dependent Claims (5, 6)
