- an analyte sensor configured for placement through a skin of a host;
a mounting unit configured for placement on the skin of the host, wherein the mounting unit exhibits articulation against the skin of the host, such that, in use, the mounting unit conforms to movement of the host when placed adjacent to the skin of the host relative to the sensor, and wherein the sensor is configured to extend through the mounting unit and into the host; and
an adhesive pad configured to adhere the mounting unit to the skin of the host.

a glucose sensor configured for transcutaneous placement through a skin of a host; and an articulating mounting unit configured to provide electrical connection between the sensor and sensor electronics, wherein the articulating mounting unit comprises a body configured for placement adjacent to the skin of the host, wherein the sensor is configured to extend through an area of the body of the mounting unit and into the host, and wherein the body of the articulating mounting unit is configured to articulate with movement of the skin of the host when placed on the skin of the host. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
