1. A visual prosthesis comprising:

  • a video receiver for receiving a video image and converting said video image to a video signal;

    a video processing unit, coupled to said video receiver and processing said video signal;

    an eye movement tracking device providing eye movement data to said video processing unit, whereby said video processing unit corrects said video signal to compensate for eye movement and produce a processed video signal;

    an external communication unit, coupled to said video processing unit, transmitting said processed video signal;

    an internal communication unit implanted within a living body receiving said processed video signal;

    a plurality of electrodes driven by said internal communication unit and stimulating visual neurons to create a perception of a processed video image derived from said processed video signal.
