1. A probe for ablating tissue, comprising:
- an elongate probe body having a main member disposed in a first plane, and a distal member configured for forming a loop-shaped structure, wherein the probe body is pre-shaped in a manner that disposes the loop-shaped structure in a second plane in the range of 30 to 60 degrees with the first plane; and
one or more ablative elements mounted to the loop-shaped structure, wherein the one or more ablative elements are arranged to create a circumferential lesion.

Abstract
The present inventions provide assemblies, probes, and methods for creating circumferential lesions in tissue, e.g., the tissue within or around the ostium of a vessel. An ablation probe with an ablative structure can be placed in contact within or around the ostium of the vessel. A diagnostic probe can be introduced through a lumen within the ablation probe and inserted into the vessel. The energy can be provided to the ablative structure to create a circumferential lesion within or around the ostium of the vessel, and the diagnostic structure can be used to diagnose the tissue to determine whether the circumferential lesion can be properly created.

an outer probe including an elongate probe body having a main member disposed in a first plane, and a distal member configured for forming a loop-shaped ablative structure, wherein the probe body is pre-shaped in a manner that disposes the loop-shaped structure in a second plane in the range of 30 to 60 degrees with the first plane, the outer probe further including a lumen having an exit port, and one or more ablative elements mounted to the loop-shaped ablative structure; and an inner probe configured to be slidably disposed within the lumen of the outer probe, the inner probe including an elongate probe body having a distal diagnostic structure configured to extend out the exit port and through the loop-shaped structure, and one or more diagnostic elements mounted to the distal diagnostic structure. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)
