Abstract

A prodrug compound of a rapamycin analog and methods for inhibiting, treating, and preventing mammalian diseases.

Claims

1. A compound of formula:

2. A method for inhibiting or treating restenosis, intimal smooth muscle cell hyperplasia, and vascular occulation in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

3. A method for treating post-transplant-tissue transplant rejection in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

4. A method for inhibiting or treating fungal growth in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

5. The compound of claim 1, wherein R is OC(O)R²R³, wherein R² is a valence bond and R³ is alkyl, alkenyl, alkenyl, or aryl.

6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient.
