1. An apparatus for coupling an implantable lead to an implantable stimulator, the lead having a proximal end, the apparatus comprising:

  • a lead connector located at the proximal end of the implantable lead, the lead connector having an electrode assemblyincluding an elongate unitary member extending from a first end to a second end, and having an intermediate portion therebetween, the electrode assembly including two or more electrodes;

    the first end forming a first electrode and the second end forming a second electrode;

    the intermediate portion forming at least one electrode interconnect mechanically and electrically interconnected between the first electrode and the second electrode, the at least one electrode interconnect disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, the intermediate portion having an outer diameter having a smaller diameter than the first electrode and the second electrode and an outer perimeter of the intermediate portion is recessed away from an electrode outer circumference of the first electrode and the second electrode, the electrode interconnect preventing longitudinal and radial movement of the first electrode relative to the second electrode; and

    the elongate member having at least one void between the first and second electrodes.
