1. A computer-implemented method of processing a color modification to be applied to a plurality of segments of digital media data, wherein each segment of the plurality of segments represents digital media data comprising more than three images, wherein the segment is defined by a reference to a source from which the digital media data originates and a range of images within the source, the method comprising:

  • receiving an indication of a color modification to be applied to a first segment;

    identifying at least one other segment in the plurality of segments having data originating from a common source with the first segment, using the references to the sources defining the segments and independently of the temporal ranges and subject matter of images in the source used by the segments; and

    storing an indication of the color modification such that the color modification is associated with the at least one other segment identified as having data originating from the common source.
