1. A nozzle structure for an inkjet printer printhead, the nozzle structure comprising:
- an ink ejection port;
a nozzle chamber in fluid communication with the ink ejection port and an ink supply channel of the inkjet printer printhead; and
a cantilevered thermal actuator terminating in a free end over the ink supply channel, the thermal actuator comprising a serpentine heater layer connected to a CMOS drive circuitry layer of the printhead, the thermal actuator adapted to reciprocate towards and away from the ink ejection port in response to signals from the drive circuitry layer.

Abstract
A nozzle structure for an inkjet printer printhead includes an ink ejection port; a nozzle chamber in fluid communication with the ink ejection port and an ink supply channel of the inkjet printer printhead; and a cantilevered thermal actuator terminating in a free end over the ink supply channel. The thermal actuator includes a serpentine heater layer connected to a CMOS drive circuitry layer of the printhead. The thermal actuator is adapted to reciprocate towards and away from the ink ejection port in response to signals from the drive circuitry layer.
