1. A process for inactivating or inhibiting the proliferation of mononuclear cells in response to a stimulus comprising the steps of:

  • adding to the mononuclear cells 500 μ

    M riboflavin and irradiating said mononuclear cells with 6.2 J UV light/mL for approximately 8-10 minutes to make treated mononuclear cells;

    exposing the treated mononuclear cells to a stimulus; and

    therebyinactivating or inhibiting the proliferation of the treated mononuclear cells in response to the stimulus.
