1. A delivery system adapted to deliver a medical implant though a body lumen and release the medical implant at a location within the body, the delivery system comprising:

  • a plurality of actuatable elements releasably coupled to the medical implant during delivery of the medical implant, wherein the medical implant comprises an expandable element and a plurality of non-expandable elements secured to the expandable element, wherein the plurality of non-expandable elements are disposed on a proximal end of the expandable element such that the plurality of actuatable elements are releasably coupled to a proximal end of the medical implant, wherein the plurality of actuatable elements are releasably coupled to the plurality of non-expandable elements, and wherein the expandable element comprises a braided material comprising wire segments that slide with respect to one another as the expandable element expands from a delivery configuration.
