Abstract

A security system comprises one or more sensor devices configured to detect conditions at one or more sites; one or more checkpoints at each of said one or more sites configured to receive signals from the one or more sensor devices; and a central headquarters processor configured to receive signals indicative of the conditions detected at said one or more sites from the one or more checkpoints. The central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred.

Claims

1. A security system, comprising:

one or more sensor devices configured to detect conditions at one or more sites;

one or more checkpoints at each of said one or more sites configured to receive signals from the one or more sensor devices;

a central headquarters processor configured to receive signals indicative of the conditions detected at said one or more sites from the one or more checkpoints; and

one or more checkpoint data processing subsystems configured to monitor signals from one or more of said sensor devices and to transmit said signals for receipt by the central headquarters processor,

wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred.

2. The security system of claim 1, wherein the central headquarters processor is further configured to process the signals to determine an action to be taken.

3. The security system of claim 2, wherein the action to be taken includes notifying a human guard of an event.

4. The security system of claim 2, wherein the action to be taken includes sending instructions to a human guard.

5. The security system of claim 1, further comprising:

one or more site central base stations configured to transmit said signals from one of said one or more sites for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

6. The security system of claim 1, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through wireless communication protocols.

7. The security system of claim 1, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through hard wired communication protocols.

8. The security system of claim 1, wherein said one or more sensor devices include one or more of the following:

motion sensing devices, radio frequency tracking sensing devices, fire or smoke detecting sensing devices, audio systems or video camera systems for transmitting or analyzing auditory or visual signals devices, climate control systems, including heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sensing devices, elevator sensing devices, or energy sensing devices.

9. The security system of claim 1, wherein said one or more sensor devices include identification tracking sensing devices.

10. The security system of claim 9, wherein said identification tracking sensing devices include sensing devices configured to communicate via a global positioning satellite (GPS) system.

11. The security system of claim 1, wherein said one or more sensor devices include sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards and having microprocessor control and wireless communications capabilities.

12. The security system of claim 11, wherein said sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards include a hand-held computer.

13. The security system of claim 1, wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred for the purpose of facilitating one of the following:

human guard supervision, human guard situation analysis, human guard intervention and human guard decision making regarding security countermeasures.

14. A security method, comprising:

detecting conditions at one or more sites through one or more sensor devices;

receiving, at one or more checkpoints, signals from the one or more sensor devices;

receiving, at a central headquarters processor, signals indicative of the conditions at said one or more sites from the one or more checkpoints; and

monitoring signals from one or more of said sensor devices by one or more checkpoint data processing subsystems;

transmitting said signals for receipt by the central headquarters processor; and

processing the signals by the central headquarters processor to determine if an event has occurred.

15. The security method of claim 14, further comprising:

processing the signals by the central headquarters processor to determine an action to be taken.

16. The security method of claim 15, wherein the action to be taken includes notifying a human guard of an event.

17. The security method of claim 15, wherein the action to be taken includes sending instructions to a human guard.

18. The security method of claim 14, further comprising:

transmitting said signals from one of said one or more sites by one or more site-central base stations for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

19. The security method of claim 14, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through wireless communication protocols.

20. The security method of claim 14, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through hard wired communication protocols.

21. The security method of claim 14, wherein said one or more sensor devices include one or more of the following:

motion sensing devices, radio frequency tracking sensing devices, fire or smoke detecting sensing devices, audio systems or video camera systems for transmitting or analyzing auditory or visual signals devices, climate control systems, including heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sensing devices, elevator sensing devices, or energy sensing devices.

22. The security method of claim 14, wherein said one or more sensor devices include identification tracking sensing devices.

23. The security method of claim 22, wherein said identification tracking sensing devices include sensing devices configured to communicate via a global positioning satellite (GPS) system.

24. The security method of claim 14, wherein said one or more sensor devices include sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards and having microprocessor control and wireless communications capabilities.

25. The security method of claim 24, wherein said sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards include a hand-held computer.

26. The security method of claim 14, wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred for the purpose of facilitating one of the following:

human guard supervision, human guard situation analysis, human guard intervention and human guard decision making regarding security countermeasures.

27. A security system, comprising:

one or more sensor devices configured to detect conditions at one or more sites;

a central headquarters processor configured to receive signals indicative of the conditions detected at said one or more sites,

wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred,

wherein the signals are translated to a universal language before processing by the central headquarters processor,

wherein the central headquarters processor is further configured to process the signals to determine an action to be taken, and wherein the action to be taken includes at least one of notifying a human guard of an event and sending instructions to a human guard.

28. The security system of claim 27, wherein the action to be taken includes notifying a human guard of an event.

29. The security system of claim 27, wherein the action to be taken includes sending instructions to a human guard.

30. The security system of claim 27, further comprising:

one or more checkpoint data processing subsystems configured to monitor signals from one or more of said sensor devices and to transmit said signals for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

31. The security system of claim 30, wherein the checkpoint data processing subsystems are configured to translate the signals from the sensor devices into the universal language.

32. The security system of claim 27, further comprising:

one or more site central base stations configured to transmit said signals from one of said one or more sites for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

33. The security system of claim 32, wherein the site-central base station is configured to translate the signals from the sensor devices into the universal language.

34. The security system of claim 27, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through wireless communication protocols.

35. The security system of claim 27, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through hard wired communication protocols.

36. The security system of claim 27, wherein said one or more sensor devices include one or more of the following:

motion sensing devices, radio frequency tracking sensing devices, fire or smoke detecting sensing devices, audio systems or video camera systems for transmitting or analyzing auditory or visual signals devices, climate control systems, including heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sensing devices, elevator sensing devices, or energy sensing devices.

37. The security system of claim 27, wherein said one or more sensor devices include identification tracking sensing devices.

38. The security system of claim 37, wherein said identification tracking sensing devices include sensing devices configured to communicate via a global positioning satellite (GPS) system.

39. The security system of claim 27, wherein said one or more sensor devices include sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards and having microprocessor control and wireless communications capabilities.

40. The security system of claim 39, wherein said sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards include a hand-held computer.

41. The security system of claim 27, wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred for the purpose of facilitating one of the following:

human guard supervision, human guard situation analysis, human guard intervention and human guard decision making regarding security countermeasures.

42. The security system of claim 27, wherein translation of signals to the universal language includes encryption.

43. A security method, comprising:

detecting conditions at one or more sites through one or more sensor devices;

receiving signals indicative of the conditions at said one or more sites at a central headquarters processor;

processing the signals by the central headquarters processor to determine if an event has occurred; and

processing the signals by the central headquarters processor to determine an action to be taken, wherein the action to be taken includes at least one of notifying a human guard of an event and sending instructions to a human guard,

wherein the signals are translated to a universal language before the processing by the central headquarters processor.

44. The security method of claim 43, wherein the action to be taken includes notifying a human guard of an event.

45. The security method of claim 43, wherein the action to be taken includes sending instructions to a human guard.

46. The security method of claim 43, further comprising:

monitoring signals from one or more of said sensor devices by one or more checkpoint data processing subsystems; and

transmitting said signals for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

47. The security method of claim 46, further comprising:

translating the signals from the sensor devices by the checkpoint data processing subsystems into the universal language.

48. The security method of claim 43, further comprising:

transmitting said signals from one of said one or more sites by one or more site-central base stations for receipt by the central headquarters processor.

49. The security method of claim 48, further comprising:

translating the signals from the sensor devices by the site-central base station into the universal language.

50. The security method of claim 43, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through wireless communication protocols.

51. The security method of claim 43, wherein said one or more sensor devices are configured to be controlled and/or monitored through hard wired communication protocols.

52. The security method of claim 43, wherein said one or more sensor devices include one or more of the following:

motion sensing devices, radio frequency tracking sensing devices, fire or smoke detecting sensing devices, audio systems or video camera systems for transmitting or analyzing auditory or visual signals devices, climate control systems, including heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sensing devices, elevator sensing devices, or energy sensing devices.

53. The security method of claim 43, wherein said one or more sensor devices include identification tracking sensing devices.

54. The security method of claim 53, wherein said identification tracking sensing devices include sensing devices configured to communicate via a global positioning satellite (GPS) system.

55. The security method of claim 43, wherein said one or more sensor devices include sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards and having microprocessor control and wireless communications capabilities.

56. The security method of claim 55, wherein said sensing devices configured to be worn by human security guards include a hand-held computer.

57. The security method of claim 43, wherein the central headquarters processor is configured to process the signals to determine if an event has occurred for the purpose of facilitating one of the following:

human guard supervision, human guard situation analysis, human guard intervention and human guard decision making regarding security countermeasures.

58. The security method of claim 43, wherein translation of signals to the universal language includes encryption.
