Abstract

The invention provides novel dye-labeled ribonucleotide analogs and methods for synthesizing those analogs. The compounds of the invention are especially useful for DNA sequencing by the polymerase chain reaction.

Claims

1. A compound having a structure of Formula I:

2. The compound according to claim 1, wherein X is N and Y is NH₂.

3. The compound according to claim 1, wherein X is C and Y is O.

4. The compound according to claim 1 wherein L₁ is a propargyl-ethyloxide-amino linker, a propargylamino linker, a propargyl-propyl-oxide-amino linker, a benzylamine linker, a rigid linker, or a multimer thereof.

5. The compound according to claim 1, wherein m=1.

6. The compound according to claim 5, wherein L₁ is a propargyl-ethyloxide-amino linker or a propargylamino linker.

7. A compound having a structure of the Formula III:

8. The compound according to claim 7, wherein L₁ is a propargyl-ethyloxide-amino linker, a propargylamino linker, a propargyl-propyl-oxide-amino linker, a benzylamine linker, a rigid linker, or a multimer thereof.

9. The compound according to claim 7, wherein n=1.

10. The compound according to claim 9, wherein L₁ is a propargyl-ethyloxide-amino linker or a propargylamino linker.

11. The compound according to claim 9, wherein R₄ is NH₂ and R₅ is H.

12. The compound according to claim 9, wherein R₄ is O and R₅ is NH₂.
