1. A method of using a front-loading syringe in an injector, the syringe having a body, a closed forward end with a discharge opening therein, an open rearward end, and structure extending radially outward from and integrally included on the body, wherein the structure is located toward a rearward end of the body, the method comprising:

  • inserting the syringe into an opening on the front of an injector housing,engaging the syringe forward of the radially extending structure located toward the rearward end of the body with a member, the member being movable relative to an axis between a retracted position and an engaging position in which the member engages the syringe,filling or expelling fluid from the front-loading syringe by movement of the plunger with a ram of the injector,removing the syringe from the injector by engaging a cam with the structure on the syringe, and rotating the syringe so that the cam causes movement of the member to the retracted position to permit removal of the syringe from the injector opening.
