1. An implantable medical device for at least partially obstructing a neck portion of a vascular aneurysm, comprising:

  • an occlusion subassembly comprising a central member and a loop of wire having first and second ends connected to the central member, said loop of wire and the central member being of a size and overall flexibility to lodge at the neck portion of the vascular aneurysm; and

    a coil attached to and radially disposed about a portion of the loop of wire; and

    the occlusion subassembly further comprises a fibrous woven tubular member extending coaxially over at least a portion of the coil, the tubular member comprising a material for encouraging a cellular response.
