Gaming device methods and apparatus employing audio/video programming outcome presentation
First Claim
1. A method of operating a gaming device, said method comprising:
- causing a processor to operate with at least one display device and at least one input device to;
(i) associate a first preference with an audio/video programming clip, said audio/video programming clip initially produced for a purpose other than for inclusion with any play of any wagering game at the gaming device;
(ii) associate a second preference with the audio/video programming clip;
(iii) enable a player to select one of the first preference and the second preference;
(iv) generate an outcome in association with a play of a wagering game at the gaming device;
(v) if a player selected the first preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome;
(vi) if a player selected the first preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, do not display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome;
(vii) if the player selected the second preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, do not display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome; and
(viii) if the player selected the second preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome.

Abstract
In a first aspect, a method (e.g., of operating a gaming device) is provided. The method includes the steps of (i) receiving audio/video content; (ii) associating a plurality of sets of outcome values with the audio/video content; (iii) determining a play session; (iv) determining which of the plurality of sets of outcome values to associate with the audio/video content for a duration of the play session, thereby determining an active set of outcome values; (v) determining a result of a game play during the session; (vi) selecting, based on the result, a value from the active set of outcome values; and (vii) outputting, as an indication of the result, the audio/video content and an indication of the selected value.

7. A system comprising:
-
a user interface; and a control system operatively coupled to the user interface and adapted to; (a) associate a first preference with an audio/video programming clip, said audio/video programming clip initially produced for a purpose other than for inclusion with any play of any wagering game at the gaming device; (b) associate a second preference with the audio/video programming clip; (c) enable a player to select one of the first preference and the second preference; (d) generate an outcome in association with a play of a wagering game at the gaming device; (e) if the player selected the first preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome; (f) if the player selected the first preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, do not display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome; (g) if the player selected the second preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, do not display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome; and (h) if the player selected the second preference and the generated outcome associated with the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9)

10. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising software with instructions, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
-
(a) associate a first preference with an audio/video programming clip, said audio/video programming clip initially produced for a purpose other than for inclusion with any play of any wagering game at a gaming device; (b) associate a second preference with the audio/video programming clip; (c) enable a player to select one of the first preference and the second preference; (d) generate an outcome in association with a play of a wagering game at the gaming device; (e) if the player selected the first preference and the outcome of the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, cause at least one display device to display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome; (f) if the player selected the first preference and the outcome of the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, do not cause at least one display device to display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome; (g) if the player selected the second preference and the outcome of the play of the wagering game is a winning outcome, do not cause at least one display device to display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the winning outcome; and (h) if the player selected the second preference and the outcome of the play of the wagering game is a losing outcome, cause at least one display device to display the audio/video programming clip to the player in conjunction with the losing outcome.
