A method for reducing successful attempts to add or substitute unauthorized persons to an on-going telephone call between authorized persons comprisingdetecting one or more anomalous speech conditions that persist for at least a predetermined period,providing an announcement informing all parties to said call that an anomalous speech condition has been detected and that the call will be terminated if the anomalous condition persists, andif said anomalous speech condition persists or recurs, terminating said call, andif said anomalous speech condition does not persist or recur, allow the call to continue.
