a measuring element disposed in the gas detection chamber to measure concentration of a subject gas contained in the observed gas; and

a tubular humidity adjusting member to release water in ambient gas as vapor, the humidity adjusting member being disposed in the gas detection chamber and having an inner bore that is larger than the opening of the first end, wherein the tube member is entirely constituted by a heater having a tip flange extending radially inside the opening of the first end, and the humidity adjusting member is supported by the tip flange and heated by the heater, the heater is powered through a pair of wirings connected to a first planar end of the tube member,an outer surface of the humidity adjusting member contacts an inner surface of the tube member, andthe opening of the second end is sealed by a seal to prevent the flow of fluid through the opening of the second end.
